( 10:30 PM )
I made a lot of good friends in OCIP, we bonded well and had fun during the whole process leading up to the trip to Vietnam. It was a nice experience working with everyone in OCIP, even though we do have differences, we managed to work together as a team and we helped out in several events. At first, I felt that the events were quite useless but thinking back now, these events actually helped us bond and work together as a team. We make up for each others shortcomings and I really look forward to working with everyone in Vietnam.
I realized that for OCIP, we helped each other even when we are not a member of the internal groups of OCIP. For example, when logistics’ members are sorting out the stuffs we needed to bring for the trip, some of us from other groups like programs or fund raising will help them. Normally, people do not help out with tasks they are not assigned to but for OCIP, I realized that we are really one family and we will help each other when we are in need of help. Thus, I have total faith in my OCIP family members and I know I can count on them when i am in any trouble in Vietnam.
Going to Vietnam will allow me to help the children there and allow me to look the world around me. I am fortunate to be born in Singapore and I do not need to worry about my education or any other things. My family will take care of everything thus I am in a sense protected by a shield created by my family and the environment in Singapore. I will be able to experience and see with my own eyes on the lives of the kids in Vietnam. Therefore, I feel that the trip to Vietnam will allow me to grow mentally.
Finally, we will be able to go to Vietnam next Thursday. We should have fun there my OCIP peeps and we will make it unforgettable even after the trip, with the memories there printed in our mind forever.
